Qualifications for Board Participation

ABLE BC has a dedicated Board that meets the following qualifications:

  • A sincere desire to develop our Industry and Membership in your respective region through ABLE's Industry voice.
  • Always considering policy that is best for Industry as a whole.
  • Involvement with a team that promotes the responsible service of beverage alcohol and professionalism within our Industry.
  • Must be in good standing with ABLE BC and an Owner or General Manager, available to serve throughout a 2 year term.
  • Available to hold local meetings with Members and Non-Members to report progress on initiatives and to grow membership.
  • Available to attend 5 - 6 meetings a year and occasional conference calls as deemed necessary.
  • Available to carry out other duties from time to time as established for Regional Directors at a general meeting of the Members.
ABLE's Board of Directors is made up of eight non-hotelier liquor primary licensees and eight hotelier licensees. Nominations take place annually in early September. A potential Board Member would need five signatures from Licensees within their specific region supporting their nomination as well as a brief bio describing their involvement in the Industry and desire to participate on ABLE's Board.
